Press Release – RHCR and CHA - Ride Together

It comes with great pleasure to announce the merge of CHA and RHCR youth hockey within Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. The goal of the merge is to provide parents and the membership a youth hockey program in Cedar Rapids that is united in the efforts to create a positive hockey experience while creating strong young people of the community. The Instructional Program (IP) will continue with the name and house-league will be branded to the RoughRiders Youth Hockey League (RYHL).

RHCR and CHA Hockey Directors, understand the importance of uniting the youth hockey community. CHA and RHCR are both committed to providing an opportunity for all players a place to call home for hockey and this set in motion a monumentally important decision to unite youth hockey. FINALLY! During the discussions this past week it had become clear to RHCR and CHA that they wanted the same thing: A Team For Every Player. It was time to set aside the long-time difference of opinions of two youth organizations within CRIA.

The pricing and structure of the Instructional Program and RYHL will remain similar to the 6-8 week program currently offered. Furthermore, price points will remain the same with the addition of early-bird registration discounts and a late-registration fee starting for the November-December IP and RYHL. RHCR travel players will receive a 30% discount for the RYHL.

All RHCR programming is USA Hockey sanctioned, thus, every player and coach will need to have proper USA Hockey registration numbers and training. This USAH number will allow your child to participate in every program, camp, or league offered by RHCR until August 31, 2019.

The next session starts the week of September 10th.
